Message from Our Principal
Hello ISANA Achernar Families,
I am honored to serve as your new principal and excited to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! It is truly a privilege to be part of a community where every educator strives to build positive, meaningful connections that support the academic, social, and emotional learning of every scholar.
At ISANA, student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships we build within our school community, and this is more important today than ever. Our goal at ISANA Achernar is to work together to provide our students a learning environment that fosters success, creativity, community, and collaboration, and promotes a culture of kindness, inclusivity, and respect.
I thank you for being part of the ISANA Achernar family and I look forward to working with you, celebrating our many accomplishments, building on traditions of the past, and introducing lots of new, exciting, and innovative programs.

At ISANA Achernar, Learning Goes Far Beyond The Classroom.
Our school is committed to nurturing the whole child by offering a wide range of enriching programs that inspire creativity, build confidence, and support students academically, socially, and emotionally. From vibrant visual and performing arts and hands-on enrichment to expanded learning opportunities, summer programs, and team sports, Achernar provides students in grades K–8 with meaningful experiences that help them discover their interests, strengthen their skills, and grow into confident, well-rounded learners in a supportive and inclusive community.
🎨 Visual & Performing Arts Program
ISANA Achernar offers a robust Visual & Performing Arts (VAPA) curriculum explore dance, drama, music, and production roles, helping them build creativity, collaboration, and communication skills.
🏃♂️Sports & Athletics Opportunities at ISANA Achernar
Participation in FIYA Sports Leagues: ISANA Achernar fields teams in extracurricular sports through the FIYA (Foundation for Interscholastic Youth Athletics) league, which organizes competitive athletics for elementary and middle schools.
🏈Flag Football: Achernar has competed in boys flag football teams in FIYA league play.
🏀Basketball Teams: The school has participated in boys basketball teams within the FIYA league as well.
📚 Expanded Learning & Enrichment
The school offers a rich Expanded Learning Program that includes free after-school, evening, and summer enrichment designed to build academic skills, celebrate diversity, boost critical thinking, and support social-emotional wellness beyond the regular school day.

Beyond core academics, Achernar’s expanded learning offers creative, experiential learning opportunities that tap into students’ interests and cultivate deeper engagement in literacy, arts, and leadership activities.

While not a specific “program” like sports, Achernar emphasizes structured social-emotional learning throughout the day, promoting peer collaboration, leadership, cultural awareness, and a supportive school culture.
📆 Summer Learning Opportunities
Students can participate in summer programs that extend learning and enrichment in a fun, engaging setting, great for preventing learning loss and building confidence in grades TK-8.
